Being a senior doesn't stand in the way of expressing a hobby. Art activities can boost productivity, helping seniors stay active, independent, and productive. Keeping the brain active is one way to help reduce the risk of dementia or age-related forgetfulness. One enjoyable way to keep the brain active is by creating art, including handicrafts, while also staying socially engaged with others. The platform created to showcase this work is called the Senior Art Exhibition, the third such event held at RUKUN Senior Living.
The event is an art exhibition showcasing RUKUN residents' work, whether paintings or handicrafts. Beyond displaying the pieces created by RUKUN Senior Living residents, the artwork is also available for purchase. Alongside the exhibition, the day also featured a DIY Craft demonstration led by the RUKUN Senior Living Activity team, as well as a Senior Performance segment (angklung, singing, and dancing).
The exhibition was open to the public, held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Senior Art Exhibition took place at Ballroom A, RUKUN Senior Living.
