RUKUN Senior Living Holds Senior Festival 2016 Once Again

RUKUN Senior Living once again held the Senior Festival in 2016, for the second time. Following the success of the previous year's event, this festival is held annually to mark National Elderly Day, observed every May 29. The event was headlined by veteran senior performers Laila Sari and Nani Wijaya, who, with plenty of energy in their own senior years, entertained the crowd. The Town Square & Convention Center at Darmawan Park once again served as the indoor and outdoor venue for Senior Festival 2016.
The event began at 7:00 AM with a group Terra exercise session, followed by the opening ceremony by the Regent of Bogor, Mrs. H. Nurhayati. The program continued with a health seminar on the topics of Alzheimer's and early stroke prevention. As in previous years, the Line Dance Competition and RUKUN Idol Season 4 remained popular draws for attendees looking to compete.
Senior Festival 2016 was just as lively as the year before, with around a thousand attendees. The event was free and open to the public, made possible through funding support from RUKUN Senior Living and its participating sponsors. Attendees came from several communities, each sending representatives to take part in the various competitions.
Free health check-ups provided by sponsors were also popular, with attendees checking things like blood pressure and blood sugar. Many participants also took part in a blood donation drive held together with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).

Held free of charge by RUKUN Senior Living with sponsor support, the event provided entertainment for the community. Attendees received snacks, lunch, and a souvenir goodie bag.
Looking ahead, RUKUN Senior Living planned to hold the Senior Festival again in 2017.
